PILGRIMAGE TOUR (PAT 8) - 2008

TOUR COST: $1,309 dbl ($459 single.supp.). Airfare not included.

Tour Cost Includes: First class hotels, meals as specified, air conditioned coach, sightseeing tours, 
English speaking guide throughout, entrance fees and taxes.
Not Included: meals not specified, cost of passport, items of a personal nature, optional insurance, baggage handling, gratuities to guides and driver.


On Friday depart U.S.A. for Warsaw.

2nd Day/Sat - WARSAW Tonight meet your traveling companions for a welcome dinner. (D)
If airline tickets are purchased through PAT TOURS, transfer from the airport to the hotel on arrival is included in the tour cost.

3rd Day/Sun - WARSAW. Guided sightseeing of Warsaw includes the Cathedral of St. John, Wilanow Palace and Jewish Ghetto Memorial. (B, D) 

4th Day/Mon - WARSAW/Niepokalanow/CZESTOCHOWA. After buffet breakfast, en route visit to Niepokalanow, the Franciscan friary founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe who was canonized a saint by Pope John Paul II. Continue journey to Czestochowa, one of the world's most famous shrines and Pope John Paul II's favorite where the "Black Madonna" is venerated as Queen of Poland. Afternoon at leisure to visit the shrine and see its historical treasures. In the evening, you may walk to the shrine for a moving  vailing ceremony of the icon. (B, D) 

5th Day/Tue - CZESTOCHOWA/Wadowice/Kalwaria Zebrzydowska/ZAKOPANE. This morning depart for  the Pope's hometown of Wadowice and visit his birthplace and baptismal church. Continue to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, the Pope's favorite retreat shrine. Dinner and overnight in Zakopane. (B, D)

6th Day/Wed - ZAKOPANE. After breakfast sightseeing tour of Zakopane. Admire the breathtaking views of the Tatras from the top of Gubalowka Mountain. Afternoon free. Enjoy some free time to shop for local arts and crafts of the local mountaineers. Dinner with folklore show at a local restaurant. (B, D)

7th Day/Thu - ZAKOPANE//Wieliczka/Lagiewniki/KRAKOW. This morning en-route stop in Wieliczka Salt Mine, an unforgettable tourist attraction with underground walk through chambers, grottoes, and chapels carved from salt. After lunch continue to the world famous Shrine of Divine Mercy, home to the revelations by St. Faustina. Pope John Paul II both canonized St. Faustina and instituted the Feast Day of Divine Mercy ( the Pope died on the eve of the Feast Day of Divine Mercy). (B, L)

8th Day/
Fri - KRAKOW. After breakfast a guided sightseeing of Krakow, the city where Pope John Paul II served as archbishop. Included is St. Mary's Church towering over the market square and Wawel royal castle with Coronation Cathedral. Afternoon free. Dinner in a local restaurant.  (B, L)

9th Day/Sat - KRAKOW/Auschwitz/WARSAW.  Start the day with an excursion to Auschwitz, site of the former Nazi concentration camp. Visit the grounds as well as the Martyrdom Museum and St. Maximilian Kolbe's cell. Continue to Warsaw for farewell dinner and overnight.  (B, D)

10th Day/Sun  - WARSAW/USA. After breakfast, termination of tour services. (B)

Transfer to the airport is available at additional cost of about $40 per taxi.
